Publisher: Speakers Bureaus Directory, an independent directory. Nobody pays to appear and a listing is not an endorsement.

London isn't just where most British speaker bureaus are. It's where nearly all of them are. Thirteen of the twenty organisations in this directory sit in the capital, and only three of the rest publish an address anywhere else.

JLA is the one to know first, and not only because it's the largest with more than 12,000 people on its database. It's the only bureau in this entire directory, in any country, that puts a published fee band on every single speaker. Bands run from under £5,000 up to £100,000, with the biggest names marked price on application. If you're budgeting an event rather than chasing a name, start there.

The rest of the London field is unusually crowded. Speakers Corner works from Mallow Street as a B Corp on more than 3,000 events a year. Champions has grown from two people to over a hundred in 23 years. Kruger Cowne manages a deliberately small roster from Chelsea Wharf. Chartwell started here in 2007 and now has US and Asian offices. Prime Performers has been going since 1973, which makes it the oldest agency in this directory.

Two things here aren't quite what the name suggests. London Speaker Bureau is a global advisory network rather than a London roster. The British Speakers Bureau is operated by SpeakIn and answers on a Singapore number.

If your event is outside London, this page is still the right place to look. Almost everything here books nationally.

## Questions about booking a speaker in London

### Why are almost all UK speaker bureaus in London?

Because the buyers are. Corporate headquarters, financial services, media and the association conference circuit all concentrate there, and the bureaus followed.

It's a sharper concentration than anywhere else in this directory. Australia splits its industry across Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Perth. Britain puts thirteen of twenty in one city.

### Which London bureau publishes its fees?

JLA, and it's the clearest pricing anywhere in this directory. Every speaker carries a band: Band A £50,000 to £100,000, Band B £25,000 to £50,000, Band C £10,000 to £25,000, Band D £5,000 to £10,000 and Band E under £5,000, with the top names quoted on application.

Outside London, Gordon Poole in Bristol shows a guide fee group on each profile.

### Which is the oldest London speaker agency?

Prime Performers, running since 1973. It books celebrity speakers and entertainers alongside after-dinner and keynote work.

The Right Address has more than thirty years, and JLA has been going 36. Champions is the youngest of the big names at 23 years, despite now being one of the largest.

### How do I get signed by a London bureau?

Several publish a route. JLA and Chartwell both run a Become a Speaker page, London Speaker Bureau has a become-a-speaker form, and Champions has Join Our Roster.

The older London firms mostly don't. Kruger Cowne, Speakers Corner, Prime Performers and The Right Address expect direct contact rather than a form.

### Is London Speaker Bureau a London bureau?

It's headquartered in London, but the business is an international advisory network rather than a London roster. It describes itself as the largest international network of experts and advisers for corporations and governments, with more than 4,000 international speakers.

It also runs boardroom advisory and executive learning alongside speaker bookings, which most bureaus don't.

### What does a B Corp certified bureau mean in practice?

Speakers Corner is the one here with the certification. B Corp is an independent assessment of a company's social and environmental performance, governance and transparency.

For a buyer running a values-led event, or one with procurement criteria around supplier ethics, it's a straightforward thing to point at.

### Can a London bureau book an event outside London?

Yes, essentially all of them work nationally and most work internationally. Chartwell has offices in the US and Asia, Champions works through hubs in Dubai, Beijing and New York, and Speakers Corner's roster covers more than 50 countries.

Being London-based mainly means that's where the account team sits.

### Are there British bureaus outside London worth knowing?

Three publish an address elsewhere. Gordon Poole works from Brockley near Bristol and has been going since 1963. SpeakOut is headquartered in Tranent in East Lothian, Scotland, with a London office, and was created in 1985. CSA runs its head office from Burnham in Buckinghamshire with a second office in London.

The Professional Speaking Association, the trade body for the UK and Ireland, is based in Eastbourne.
